The Indie Index - Interview with Jason Pittman

The Indie Index - Interview with Jason Pittman
Mental illness - or Mental Illness, depending on how you envision it - is a topic that has worked its way into the comic book medium, for better or for worse. The topic travels different paths in the various taless that it is featured in, you'll never find yourself reading a story that defines mental illness in the same way as others. The War For Kaleb is a story that takes the topic and merges it with the superhero genre.  The War For Kaleb by Jason Pittman is currently on Kickstarter so read this interview and check the campaign out.   Introduce yourself:    I'm Jason Pittman.  I am a self published writer/artist for the series Leftovers, and most currently The War for Kaleb, which is a superhero story about an anxiety disorder that I have just launched a Kickstarter for.  I went to the School of Visual Arts in NYC,...

pincap
Hello! We're  Behemoth Comics ; the largest comic book and graphic novel publisher in North Texas. Just a few months ago we launched two comic books on Kickstarter. That would be the cyberpunk comic by the artist of Deadpool and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Capsule and the fantasy comic for fans of Final Fantasy, Hiraeth. They were both successes and while the writers are hard at work on the follow up issues, we'd love to give everyone a chance to get closer to the characters of Capsule and Hiraeth than ever before and introduce you to the characters of Neptune Radio and Space Copz, our next two comic book series! You can check out the Kickstarter campaign by clicking any of the images below or by clicking HERE .

Twilight-Hotel
TwilightHotel2
Twilight Hotel tells the story of a 100-year-old West Florida hotel that has a very sinister secret. Built on land that was once the home of the most notorious plantation in all of North America, where thousands of African slaves and Seminole Indians were murdered in ritualistic ceremonies. It is also home to an ANCIENT EVIL DEITY named... “SHE”. With a supernatural ability to attract and influence people, she lures unwitting individuals to the Twilight where they are subjected to many horrible things including, MAN-EATING BED BUGS, PSYCHOTIC GANGSTERS, ZOMBIES, SERIAL KILLERS and worst of all… themselves. A Kickstarter campaign in support of the comic book has already launched and the project’s creators hope to hit their fundraising goal by Nov 19th. Copies of the completed first volume and other very cool backer rewards are available so, anyone interested in lending their support can go to: https://www.kickstarter.com/…/twilight-hotel…/twilight-hotel

The Indie Index - Kickstarter Spotlight: Where is Zog?

The Indie Index - Kickstarter Spotlight: Where is Zog?
zog
Inspired by the music of GWAR and '70s sci-fi, Where Is Zog? is the story of Grum and Zill, who are the survivors of a crash landing on an uncharted planet. They latch onto the idea of finding Zog to give themselves hope and direction, but that's only useful if they don't get themselves eaten by space monsters.   The book will be a 92 page, 9" x 6" landscape format softcover trade paperback which collects 52 strips and "Survivors," a 16 page short story, along with a 15 page prose section, "Zill's Field Guide."     Check out the Kickstarter campaign  HERE .

The Indie Index - Interview with Ryan K. Lindsay

The Indie Index - Interview with Ryan K. Lindsay
bc rkl
Ryan K. Lindsay creates stories that happen to be the freshest out there, his stories and characters are the kind that you can't not care about. RKL is the closest that the comics medium has ever gotten to a Hunter S. Thompson-esqe writer (and I'm including Ellis' Transmetropolitan in that). Read below and try to come out of the other side without a fresh perspective on comics. Just try it. Who are you and why should comic readers know who you are? I'm Ryan K Lindsay, an Australian comic writer. I've written BEAUTIFUL CANVAS with Sami Kivela at Black Mask , NEGATIVE SPACE with Owen Gieni at Dark Horse , and have also been published at IDW , Vertigo, ComixTribe , and a few other places. Beyond that, I've run 5 successful Kickstarter campaigns, too. Five words to describe your writing style: Ugh, what a pretentious goon. You've got a...

Before we go any further, can we please take a moment to recognise how cool of a title 'VOODOO DETECTIVE' is?! Rik Favino contacted me to shine a light on his current Kickstarter campaign for VOODOO DETECTIVE. Gladly! VOODOO DETECTIVE: Old Wounds and Other Tales is a 48-Page Occult/Pulp/Horror Comic, starring Jackson Delmond, New Orleans’ resident Occult Investigator; a man who must use his strange gifts to defend against deadly threats, amidst the swamp-filled, supernatural South. Featuring the gorgeous artwork of Dominic Black, the visually stunning colors of Laura Lee and written by the esteemed R. Thomas Favino, VOODOO DETECTIVE: Old Wounds and Other Tales is the first book in a new comic series, which boasts four separate, serial anthology-style stories. Check out the Kickstarter campaign HERE .
